Cabaye Set to Join PSG, De Jong to Nufc

Tuesday 28 January 2014

Newcastle United have agreed a deal to sell Yohan Cabaye to PSG according to Sky Sports. The French club recently had a £14 million offer rejected but came back with a significantly increased bid.

Yohan Cabaye

The Toon had placed a £25 million price tag on Cabaye, so it is thought to be somewhere around that region. Alan Pardew said on Monday he was worried it may happen and it now seems those worries have become a reality.

Pardew said "You are talking to someone who lost Andy Carroll with eight hours to go, so am I confident? No, I'm not confident and I don't think any team not in a Champions League position or fighting for a Champions League position could be," said Pardew.
"I don't want him (Cabaye) to go. We have not indicated for one moment here from the owner down to any of my staff that we want him to go, not one iota."

So what now for Newcastle? Can Joe "F**king" Kinnear be trusted to find a replacement for Cabaye?

Newcastle United were linked to Remy Cabella earlier in the window, but it has been stated by his club that he will not leave in this window.

And with every club knowing the Toon having money to spend, it's certainly going to be difficult to get someone in. Lets hope Mike Ashley pulls his finger out his arse and gives the Toon Army something to shout about.

Luuk De Jong is joining the Toon for the rest of the season on loan, hasnt scored in 9 months but neither has Shola Ameobi.

Will Cabaye be replaced in this window?

Comments welcome.
